Curtis enlisted in the Army on January 14, 1943, at Ft McPherson Atlanta, Georgia.

He served in the 385th Bombardment Group (Heavy).
This group was activated on December 1, 1942. Curtis trained with B-17s.

He moved to England in June 1943 and was assigned to the Eighth AF. Curtis's group operated primarily as a strategic bombardment organization until the war ended, striking such targets as industrial areas, air bases, oil refineries, and communications centers in Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, Holland, and Norway.

Curtis Daniel Farr, age 45, of 451 Paulding Lane, Dallas, passed away on January 21, 1967, in an Atlanta Hospital after an illness of four months. He was born in Carroll County on November 23, 1921, the son of the late Mrs. Evie Mae Sewell Farr and the late Mr. John Jefferson Farr. He was a carpenter and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Oree Williams; one daughter, Miss Paulette Farr of Dallas; seven brothers, Guy Farr and Jodie Farr, both of Carrollton, Leonard Farr, and Rader Farr, both of Villa Rica; Wilburn Farr, Durell Farr, and James Farr, all of Lithia Springs; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Howard Farr of Villa Rica and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 22, 1967, at 2:30.
